West Lakes Paddling Day – Stage 3-5 – Saturday 7th Sept 2024 – 4hr Event

7 Sep 2024 (Applications close on 23 Aug 2024 at 17:00, 2 weeks before the event starts.)

 

Youth members aged 13 years plus (Older Scout Section up) will have the opportunity to undertake a half day paddling activity of 4 hours.

You should have completed your Paddling Stage 2 AOS, including 2 paddles at Stage 2 and have logged those paddles.

Your Section Leader does not need to attend, there will be qualified Scout Paddling Leaders running each session.

Youth will have the opportunity to:

    • Work on Paddling Stages 3 - 5. 

    • Capsize and get wet (weather dependant).

    • Develop navigation skills, circumnavigating Delfin Island, West Lakes - 7kms

    • Help other youth working on Stage 1-2 develop their paddling skills.
