2023 Spring Rakali
Fri 6th – Mon 9th Oct,
OAS Paddling Stage 4/5
A three (3) day / two (2) night paddling journey, exploring the River Murray and backwaters (Loch Luna) near Barmera in the SA Riverland.
· Arrive at the Barmera Scout Hall Friday night at 8pm for the pre-event briefing and to set up tent.
· Saturday and Sunday nights bush camping. BYO own equipment and food. This is a self- catered trip.
Suitable for Linking Scouts, Venturers and Rovers who:
· Have completed an overnight paddle journey or have light weight camping experience and experience paddling full days.
· Are at Outdoor Adventure Skills (OAS) Paddling Stage 4 or have equivalent skills.
· A logbook of your paddling experiences will be of benefit.
** Participants who have not previously undertaken an overnight trip will need to provide details of an Endorsed Paddling Leader who can verify their experience paddling.
Land based supporting leaders are welcome to join us as the campsites are accessible by vehicle, but must express their interest via email to the Paddle Venture Team (email below)
Cost: · $110 which includes craft hire and event fees.
** A discount may be available for those supplying their own Scouts SA registered craft. Email event organisers to discuss.
Adults:
· Land based supporting leaders welcome to join at campsites. All sites accessible by vehicle.
· Adults must express interest at registration by emailing rakali@sa.scouts.com.au
· Endorsed Paddling Adult tickets are for identified Endorsed Paddling Leaders. Any request for an exception needs to be emailed to rakali@sa.scouts.com.au

Participant kit list will be provided after registration.
