Bushwalking Safe Participant Course is 2 x 2 hour online sessions and a bushwalking weekend, where participants can add additional skills needed to safely lead members on bushwalking activities in Controlled environments, e.g. tracked terrain.
Note: This will be first course under new Safe Participant definition being conducted by the Bushwalking Team and only 8 participant places available.
Participation in this course does not guarantee you will be issued with the qualification as you must demonstrate you are competent in the required skills, which may require additional experience. For youth wishing to attend, this course is recommended to those aged 14+ years.

Please ensure that you have completed the prerequisites, BEFORE applying for this course:
a) Scouts Australia e-Learning Level 1 Common Core via https://training.scouts.com.au
b) Submit your Bushwalking Logbook to, Bob Ellis: bc.bushwalking@sa.scouts.com.au

a) Available online Monday 26-Jul-2021 and Tuesday 27-Jul-2021 (19:00 - 21:00)
b) Available Saturday 14-Aug-2021 08:00 to Sunday 15-Aug-2021 15:00
c) Complete pre-course sections of the workbook before Friday 30-Jul-2021
d) Complete bushwalk planning exercise before Friday 30-Jul-2021
This course is for navigation in controlled environments, tracked terrain, self-catered, camping overnight and BYO tent.
