Overnight paddling trip on the River Murray and Katarapko Creek, Friday 17th May to Sunday 19th May. 

Meet at Berri Scout Hall (Traeger Lane, off Foreman Rd), Friday night 19:00 (pre-trip briefing from 20:00), Saturday morning car shuttle & depart from Lock 4, camp overnight in the Katarapko Section of Murray River NP with finish/pickup at the river bend car park east of the Loxton BIG4 Caravan Park, Sunday afternoon, 15:00. Total distance of approx. 25km over the two days.

This is a bush camping and self-catering trip, open to Venturers and Linking Scouts.

NOTE - Only 30 participant places are available, 16 with supplied kayaks and 14 for those with access to their own Scouts SA registered kayaks or canoes.

We can support a mix of kayaks and canoes, if your Group/Section has it's own, please organise with them. Otherwise select Youth Paddler + Nifty 385 Kayak when registering on MyScout Events.

Venturers may use this activity for their Award Scheme, with enough hours included to complete VA Outdoors or could be part of a QSA Outdoors plan and both will require Unit Council pre-approval and contact with Paddle Venture LIC.

Greg Walker's Kayaking Checklist, for what to bring both personally / as a team, e.g. shared equipment/supplies with your paddling partner inc. food, water, tent, stove etc. (Note - this checklist does includes equipment that only applies to supporting Paddling Leaders.) Once registration is confirmed, you'll also receive a Confirmation/Information Letter & an alternative visual Gear List.
